In Guongzhou, I flipped on the TV in my hotel room and saw this great children's cartoon involving some gentle birds, which had a great pentatonic melody. I taped it with my Walkman, but seemed to have lost the tape once I got back to New York. I wrote this based on what I remembered of the melody, even feeling a bit guilty that i was probably ripping off someone else's tune. Eventually the tape surfaced, and it emerged that I'd completely mis-remembered the tune.
